Today was our last day in beautiful Monteverde, and the day started off at 5:30 am when I woke up to the sounds of nature as well as my alarm clock. I started off by packaging up my things and heading to breakfast. My breakfast consisted of fluffy pancakes with chocolate milk and a side of cantaloupe which definitely made me feel like I was back ho

me.
Once our stomachs were full, we headed onto the adventure we had waiting for us at the Cloud Forest. Walking into the forest I was not so sure what to expectconsidering that from a glance not a lot of wildlife can be seen but through our guide we were able to dissect the forest and see a lot more than what I had expected such as a Tarantula, Birds, Millipedes and plants. Being into contact with all this nature has been extremely relaxing and such an honor considering it is something we will never see back in Indiana. The highlight of the hike was getting to the hanging bridge and being able to see all the greenery as well as the big clouds and all the fog it created. Walking on the bridge felt so unreal and like a literal dream, the combination of light rain and mist tied everything together and made all the pictures and videos Pinterest worthy. Prior to the trip I remember scrolling through videos about Monteverde and the hanging bridge and not believing the view and how green it was and being able to stand there today in the same spot felt like such a full circle moment, I wish I could’ve had more time to take in the moment but due to the amount of people and weather we had to leave and let others enjoy the same experience we had.

Once we finished the trail, we headed onto a hummingbird house where we were swamped with hummingbirds left and right. Prior to this experience I had no interest in seeing hummingbirds but once we stepped in, I was fascinated by them, they were zooming left and right making sure everyone saw them, even sitting down I was able to have some fly close enough to me, it was definitely not what I was expecting but I am glad I was able to experience it. After the hummingbirds we made our way to Mar y Tierra where we had our last amazing lunch in Monteverde before we headed back on the bus to make our way back to Heredia.

Sincerely,
